Overview

Project Overview

CaoDesk is CAO-TECH’s own help desk for businesses and agencies that support customers through their websites. Customers open tickets in a support portal on the website; the team answers them from a native app — on the Mac App Store now — with every connected site in one inbox. The WordPress plugin provides the portal, the help desk in wp-admin and the API the app uses. CaoDesk licenses are available to businesses and organizations, for use by their own support staff.

The Challenge

Agencies and businesses that look after several websites end up checking a separate support inbox on each one, and handing website passwords to a support app is not acceptable.

Our Solution

A WordPress plugin with a customer portal, ticket database and secure, versioned REST API, and a native SwiftUI app for macOS that connects to any number of sites. Each site is paired with a one-time code and gets its own revocable credential stored in the Keychain; traffic goes over HTTPS straight between the app and the site. An optional push relay delivers instant notifications without WordPress ever holding Apple’s keys.
